What Determines GLP-1 Eligibility?

Hume Care has basic service requirements, but meeting them does not guarantee clinical services or a prescription. Its current terms require users to be at least 18, live in a covered US state, have a compatible device and reliable internet, and meet any additional requirements Hume may set. After initial screening, an independent Clinical Network physician makes the medical decision.

For a beginner-level explanation of the medicines themselves, start with the GLP-1 weight loss guide.

Two Separate Layers of Eligibility

1. Basic Hume Care service requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Living in a state where services are currently available
  • A compatible device and reliable internet connection
  • Any additional programme requirements in force at the time

2. Independent clinical suitability

  • Medical and treatment history
  • Current medicines and possible interactions
  • Weight-related health factors and treatment goals
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding information
  • Whether telehealth is appropriate or in-person care is needed
  • The physician’s independent medical judgment
Meeting the basic requirements is not approval. Hume Care’s terms state that independent physicians make all treatment and prescribing decisions and may decide that telehealth or GLP-1 therapy is not appropriate.

What May Be Reviewed Clinically?

Health history

Past and current conditions may affect whether a medicine or telehealth pathway is appropriate.

Current medicines

The clinician needs accurate information to assess interactions, duplication and safety concerns.

Weight-related factors

Approved products have defined indications, but individual assessment goes beyond a single number.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

This information must be disclosed because it can materially affect treatment decisions.

Previous GLP-1 use

Prior treatment, response and side effects may matter, particularly when a compounded preparation is being considered.

Location

Hume Care operates only in the United States and only where its Clinical Network has licensed physician coverage.

Telehealth suitability

An independent physician may recommend in-person evaluation rather than remote treatment.

Ongoing suitability

Clinical decisions can be revisited if symptoms, health information or treatment response change.

What This Page Cannot Tell You

HealthyPA cannot tell you whether you qualify, which medicine you would receive, or whether a physician will prescribe anything. Hume Care does not guarantee the availability of any particular medication, prescription approval or pharmacy. Avoid any website that promises a guaranteed prescription before a licensed clinician has reviewed complete health information.

Retatrutide is not part of this pathway. It remains investigational and is not offered by Hume Care. Read the retatrutide status guide for the current legal and trial position.

Check the Current Requirements

Eligible US adults can complete Hume Care’s online screening. If the initial requirements are met, they may be connected with an independent licensed physician. The physician decides whether clinical services, telehealth and any medication are appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Hume Care’s basic eligibility requirements?

Current terms require users to be at least 18, live in a covered US state, have a compatible device and reliable internet, and meet any additional requirements in force at the time.

Does meeting the basic requirements guarantee treatment?

No. An independent Clinical Network physician decides whether clinical services or medication are appropriate.

Is there one universal BMI rule for every GLP-1 programme?

No. FDA-approved products have specific labeled indications, while providers may also apply programme and clinical criteria. Do not assume one number applies to every product or patient.

Can I qualify while taking other medicines?

Possibly, but the clinician must review your complete medication list for interactions, duplication and other safety concerns.

Is Hume Care available in every state?

No. Coverage varies. Check Hume Care’s current coverage page because state availability can change.

Can I request a particular medication?

You can discuss preferences, but Hume Care does not guarantee any specific medication. The independent physician makes the prescribing decision.

Does Hume Care offer retatrutide?

No. Retatrutide remains investigational and is not offered through Hume Care.
